If you’re in the market for a new not so expensive (which also means not so high-end in terms of specs) tablet, Acer is giving you an alternative from the more popular brands that you see in the market. The Iconia Tab 10 is a 10.1-inch tablet that has a 1910×1200 IPS full HD display. It’s a decent device if all you want to do is watch a few videos and use it as a personal digital assistant, with the occasional games thrown in.
It boast of a 170-degree viewing angle which looks better than most mid-range tablets and it also has a Zero Air Gap touch panel with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 to give you a better viewing experience. And if you touch your tablet’s screen a lot, which is like 95% of the time, its fingerprint-resistant coating will lessen the amount of time that you spend constantly cleaning your screen.
On the inside, the tablet runs on a Mediatek quad-core processor and is only updated up to Android 4.4 KitKat. There is no word yet on whether it will ever be upgraded to the current Lollipop 5.0. It also has 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage (which can be expanded up to 128GB of microSD). It only has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and in terms of cameras, it has a 5MP main and 2MP front-facing camera. We don’t really expect you to take great pictures using your tablet, so that’s fine.
The Iconia Tab 10 will be sold at Acer’s online store and other retail channels. It will just cost you $249, and for the specs we mentioned above, that’s not that bad a deal. No details yet as to when this will be available.
