If you’re in the market for a new wearable device (and after this World Mobile Congress you just might be), Acer is clamoring to have you try out the newest generation of their Smart Activeband line. The Liquid Leap+ is their first foray into the multi-OS wearable market and brings you all the basic features you’re looking for in a smartband, with the interchangeable straps adding to your customization.

The 1″ OLED touchscreen can be removed and strapped to a different coloured band to match whatever you’re wearing or whatever mood you’re in. The rubber wristbands also have a curved surface that is designed so it can lower your body temperature because it will minimize actual contact with your skin. The device is also IPX7 certified, meaning it can be immersed in water for up to 1 meter so you can wear it 24/7, even while taking a bath or doing a quick swim.

On the inside, it is a pretty great wearable device for those who want to keep track of their lifestyle habits, including tracking your steps, running distance and the calories you’ve already burned just by being active. You can also control the music you’re listening to with the “play”, “pause”, “previous”, and “next song” keys on your screen. And of course, it also serves as a notification center so you can see if you’ve received an important SMS or email, and what’s on your calendar for the day as well.

The button-free and minimalist Liquid Leap+ will be able to connect with your Android, iOS or Windows smartphone through Bluetooth 4.0 low energy. The wristbands come in Charcoal Black, Fushia Pink, and Lime Green. No pricing and availability details yet but we can expect an announcement probably during the Mobile World Congress this week.
