Chromebooks are still alive and they’re not going anywhere. The affordable notebook computer series that runs Chrome OS is a smart alternative to pricey high-specced laptops. Most schools and workplaces are slowly turning to Chromebooks because they are definitely cheaper, customizable, and more accessible. Acer didn’t wait for the April 21 event and announced the new Chromebook 14.
Acer made two versions of the all-aluminum Chromebook which differs in the resolution of the 14-inch IPS display. One shows images in their 1366 x 768 glory and another one in 1920 x 1080 Full HD. Acer used its ComfyView technology for better and wider viewing angles (max 170-degrees).
Special features of the Chromebook include a standard webcam, microphone, stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.2, HDMI, and dual-band 802.11ac/a/b/g/n WiFi. The webcam boasts of a wide FOV and high dynamic range (HDR) mode. The Chromebook runs either an Intel Celeron quad-core or dual-core N3060 processor, 2GB or 4GB, 32GB internal storage, and is powered by a 14-hour battery.
The laptop is more ideal for simple computing tasks like word processing and web surfing. It runs Chrome OS, an operating system that makes use of the cloud in saving user data and applications. You need to be always connected to the Internet so yo can save your data when working on something.
Acer Chromebook 14 will be ready next month with a $299 price. That’s for the 4GB RAM model already.
