A new Acer tablet has been spotted and is being called the Iconia Tab A200. It was leaked along with its Bluetooth certification. This is actually the first time we’ve heard of such device and to hear about it along with a not so blurry picture is an added bonus. Acer currently offers the A500 10″ and the A100 7″ Honeycomb tablets so with this being called the A200 we are expecting it to possibly be sized right in the middle and possibly at a decent price too.
At first glance it looks to be bigger than 7″ but 10 might be pushing it. This could be a 8 or 8.9″ tablet from Acer but sadly the Bluetooth SIG didn’t reveal too many details so we are still doing some digging. We’ve recently seen the A100 available in reddish color and you might think this is the same tablet, only the front camera is in a different location and these appear to be different devices.
The design looks a lot like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 if you ask me. Losing the slight curves to the edges like previous Iconia tablets while getting much thinner in the process. So far I like what I’m seeing, especially if this will be the new design direction from Acer but for now we’ll have to wait until more details surface. At this point we have no clue if this will run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb or if it will in fact have the new Ice Cream Sandwich. We can hope for a Tegra 3 quad-core running ICS right? Stay tuned!
