Initial shots of Gigabyte’s rumored GSmart Android phone made it look a bit, well, janky to our eyes, and a new set of live images aren’t doing much to improve matters. Russian site mobile-review have acquired a few new shots, and we reckon the handset most resembles a chubby HTC Tattoo.
The specifications are pretty much on a par with the Tattoo as well, with Qualcomm’s 528MHz processor showing up along with a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0. Unfortunately there’s no sign of 3G, only EDGE, which isn’t going to help Android’s data-guzzling cloud support. The saving grace could be price; the Gigabyte GSmart is tipped to arrive at around $300 SIM-free.
