If you like ebook readers, then you’ll like this, apparently, the folks over at nookDevs have managed to root a Barnes & Noble’s nook ebook reader. As you can see on the image below, naked, the B&N ebook reader it’s not the sexiest looking device you ever seen, so let’s not talk about that.

The Barnes & Noble’s nook ebook reader runs on Google’s free mobile OS. Recently, sister site SlashGear, had a full review of this dual-display device, which sports both; a 6-inch monochrome E Ink panel and a 3.5-inch color capacitive touchscreen for navigation.

Apparently, a generic OS 1.5 build of Android is loaded into a 2GB MicroSD card, and since the nook also gets both WiFi b/g and 3G, it has the ability to do everything a rooted Android phone can do. Well, there you have it folks, if you are into ebook readers and like to try this, remember that you are on your own every time you hack into any device, so be careful.
