Verizon must be feeling pretty generous today. We just reported that Amazon is offering up some tasty prices to anyone willing to sign on to one of Verizon’s new tiered data plans. Not to be outdone, Verizon is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on its two latest Droid phones, the Droid 3 and Droid X2.
Well leave it to marketing to ruin my summer. Its not even August, and the “back to school” sales are starting. While it may be sad for myself and students everywhere, for you it means some pretty good deals on phones. If you and a friend or family member are looking to upgrade, this summer the Droid 3 and Droid X2 are both available buy-one-get-one for an effective price of $99.98 each.
Is it worth going through the trouble of getting two phones when Amazon has both phones for cheaper though? The short answer, no. Like Amazon’s deals on these phones, you will need a new contract to get the price, meaning you have to be leaving another carrier, or giving up your unlimited data. The difference between the two (aside from needing to buy two) is that the Amazon deals are $30 less for the Droid 3 and $40 less for the Droid X2.
A deal’s a deal, but so is a better one. If you are looking for a new Verizon smartphone contract, hop on over to Amazon and check out the deals we reported here.
