If you have or are planning to buy any Fuji wireless-enabled digital camera, then you will probably need the Fujifilm Camera Remote app to make using your camera and your mobile device easier. They are currently working on an overhaul of the app to make it even easier and faster to do so. However, you’ll have to wait a few more months before you can experience this new app. In the meantime, the current one is still functional so download it for free from the Google Play Store.

If it’s the first time that you’re hearing about this app, from the name itself you know that you’ll be able to use it to remotely control your digital cameras from your smartphone or your tablet. But it does more than just that as you can easily transfer your photos and videos from your camera to your connected mobile device. It also lets you view the images on a larger screen like your phone or tablet. And of course, you can also download and check the firmware updates for your cameras from the app itself.

The update will bring several improvements to the app, including a newly designed interface which should make it easier to use. They are also bringing a more stable connection between the camera and your device so that transferring images and videos should be faster, even when your switching menus between the apps. You will also now have an Album function so that you can see all the photos you imported from your camera in just one place.

The release date for the update in the Android version is scheduled for May this year. Makes you wonder why they released the announcement as early as now but that’s probably because the iOS version will get theirs earlier, by March this year. In the meantime, get used to the current version of the app.
