The Samsung Exynos 9820 will be installed on the 10th Anniversary Galaxy flagship series. We’ve confirmed this last year since the Exynos 9’s launch when we learned it would bring On-device AI processing. As early as November, Samsung Galaxy S10 Exynos 9820 variant was benchmarked on AnTuTu with favorable results. The South Korean tech company detailed the Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9820 processor functions so we know what to expect. Today, the new mobile chipset is being showcased in a video explaining how it will usher in a new age of mobile experiences.
The Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9820 is designed to help new innovations and technologies work on the new phones. The new chipset will power the Samsung Galaxy S10 series and other future phones with more intelligent processing power, enhanced mobile experience, diverse multimedia features, and multi-gigabit internet speed among others.
Samsung’s latest premium chipset will make the Samsung Galaxy S10 more powerful than ever. With its integrated neural processing unit (NPU), the phone is able to do deep learning without consuming much power. Numerous AI functions can be performed with about 7x the speed than the older Exynos model.
On-device AI is important because it makes processing faster. There is no need to go to the cloud or connect to the Internet just to get data or information because everything is stored there. AI functions can be used on camera, augmented reality, and personal assistant services so imagine the added speed.
Exynos 9820 also includes an LTE-Advanced Pro modem for faster downloads, smoother online gameplay, and uninterrupted video streaming. It can work with the 5G cellular modem of Samsung so the 5G network can be supported in the near future.
Compared to the previous premium Exynos, the 9820 is more power efficient by 35% and offers an improvement in performance by 40%. It includes a Mali-G76 MP12 graphic processing unit (GPU) so expect advanced APIs support and cutting-edge graphics compression techniques as described.
