Remember the Livermorium Slider Keyboard Moto Mod for the Moto Z phone? The add-on was announced at the CES 2018 last year. It made the fans excited but unfortunately, it didn’t turn into reality. The crowdfunding campaign was canceled. The replacement was a smartphone also from Livermorium. It was actually said to be out by the fourth quarter of 2018 but obviously, nothing is available yet. The people from Livermorium have finally shared an update and said the premium landscape slider smartphone will be out this first quarter.
F(x) Technology is the new name of the Livermorium group. It’s currently doing promotions for the smartphone that we think will make an impression with a large 6-inch AMOLED screen, 18:9 aspect ratio, curved sides, and a five-row keyboard.
The phone will have a full QWERTY keyboard but we know functions are limited. The alphabet keys are still in the middle but symbol keys have been adjusted to different but still reachable positions. The frequently used Ctrl, Shift and Fn keys are available on both sides. Keys are backlit.
Depending on how you use your keyboard, it can be QWERTY or Scandinavian. To make viewing on the phone easier, there’s some angled slider mechanism.
The F(x) Tech-developed smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie. We can expect less bloatware. The phone is mainly in landscape so you may think it’s weird. The designers are making sure the UI and apps are landscape-friendly.
Aside from Android, the new phone may run or use other mobile OS like Lineage OS and Sailfish OS.
