Mobvoi isn’t taking a break. After the TicWatch C2 was made available for purchase in the US last month and the TicWatch Pro, the company is showing off the TicWatch S2 and the TicWatch E2 at this week’s CES 2019. Actually, we’ve already seen the E2 a few months ago. We said it was rolling out soon but still nothing. This 2019, Mobvoi’s product lineup now includes the TicWatch Express, Sport, C2, TicWatch Pro, TicWatch E2, and the TicWatch S2.
The TicWatch E2 and TicWatch S2 are the second-generation Express and Sport smartwatches from the brand that started in Kickstarter. The two are similar in many ways–from the 1.39-inch AMOLED screens with 400 x 400 pixel resolution, 22mm silicone wrist straps, 415mAh batteries, and Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processors.
The only difference between the two? Mainly, the size. The TicWatch E2 is bigger but only by tiny difference that isn’t really noticeable. The TicWatch S2 measures 46.6mm x 51.8mm x 12.9mm while the E2 is 46.6mm x 52.2mm x 12.9mm. The two even have the same heart-rate sensor, GPS, and swim-monitoring mode.
The TicWatch S2 and TicWatch E2 will initially be out in black. The S2 will get a white version later. That is another difference that will probably help you in making your shopping decision. You can wait for the white TicWatch S2 if you want something that looks cleaner and bright.
The new TicWatch E and S watches now have 5 ATM waterproof rating so you can wear the watch and swim. The previous IP67 water and dust resistant rating of the older smartwatches wasn’t enough.
Mobvoi may sell the smartwatches for anything between $150 and $200. There is no mention of exact pricing yet but we know they will be affordable.
