When it comes to external batteries and power banks, mophie is one of the most popular and trusted brands out there. They’re introducing two new products that aren’t necessarily groundbreaking but are pretty useful for those who always run out of juice for their devices when they’re on the go. The powerstation PD and PD XL support fast charging both for your device and when actually charging the battery itself. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table but it also does well what it’s supposed to really do.
The powerstation PD has a 6,700mAh capacity while the powerstation PD XL obviously has a higher capacity with 10,500mAh. Looks-wise, there’s nothing really exceptional about it but then again you’re probably not looking for a pretty or even amazingly-designed external battery. It has a power button, four LED lights that show the charge status or how much battery life you have left. It has both USB-C and USB-A ports so you can charge a lot of different devices.
Both batteries can support 15W and 18W charging so if your device has fast charging, then you’ll be able to juice up pretty quickly. It also supports rapid charging of the battery itself so you don’t have to spend half the night just powering it up. If your powerstation is plugged in. you can also charge two devices at once. It has Priority+ so your device will be charged first before the external battery itself.
The powerstation PD weighs a little over 5 ounces and is priced at $59.95. The powerstation PD is obviously a bit heavier at 7.2oz and will be a bit more expensive at $79.95. They are both supposedly scuff and scratch resistant when stored properly.
