The Samsung Galaxy A8s with hole-screen smartphone first came to our senses back in November. Its front camera cutout measurement was soon detailed and then the Infinity-O cutout and camera-hole display hit the FCC. The idea was then confirmed and had an early rival in Huawei Nova 4. It was officially announced and went up for pre-order in China two weeks ago. The phone is now available for purchase and is offered at an affordable price: $450. That’s mid-range pricing so we know many people will be attracted to the phone, especially since its display is different.
The phone comes with a camera under the display and such is viewed through a hole. The Infinity-O display is ready on the Galaxy A8s which is actually set to rival the Huawei Nova 4.
JD.com lists the Samsung Galaxy A8s for CNY 2999. That converts to less than $500 so it’s somewhat affordable.
To review, the phone comes equipped with 128GB onboard storage, 6 or 8GB of RAM, microSD slot for memory expansion, Snapdragon 710 processor, and Android 9 Pie OS. When it comes to imaging, there are three rear cameras and a 24MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 lens.
We’re looking forward to an 8GB RAM + 128GB model but we’ll have to wait for that one. The Samsung Galaxy A8s will be released in China in Alien Silver, Blue, and Aurora Black.
