We haven’t featured any DxOMark testing results lately but we take notice when a new phone is a subject. After the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 earned a nice spot on DxoMark mobile ranking, here’s the OnePlus 6T in focus. The phone gets reviewed by the firm in terms of mobile photo and video performance. To review, the phone comes equipped with a 6.41-inch AMOLED edge-to-edge screen, dual 16MP and 20MP rear cameras with image stabilization and phase-detection autofocus, Twin LED flash and 4K video recording at 30/60 fps.
The OnePlus 6T receives an average score of 98 which brings it just behind the Xiaomi Mi 8, tied with the old Google Pixel 2. It ranks 7th and is among the top 10.
OnePlus 6T is found to offer very good autofocus, very good dynamic range, plus good and repeatable target exposure. The phone also delivers good depth estimation in bokeh mode and good detail across all conditions.
There are a few cons though. There are some noticeable ringing, ghosting, and halos, especially in high dynamic scenes. There’s color inconsistency and violet white balance casts in all tested conditions. In bokeh mode, moving objects show blurred artifacts. There’s low level of detail in zoom shots while coarse noises are sometimes visible in low-light and in the sky.
When it comes to video recording, colors are pleasant and vivid. Take note of the good target exposure and dynamic range in indoor and outdoor conditions, fast and accurate autofocus and efficient stabilization are also evident.
Unfortunately, there may be abrupt direction changes in video movements. There is some Judder effect when panning while those textured areas sometimes move independently from others.
