We don’t know exactly the reason for rebranding smartphones when there’s nothing different about their specs, but it does happen a lot, especially with mid-tier and entry-level devices. Cricket Wireless and Motorola are doing it again for two recently released devices. The moto e5 Plus is now called the moto e5 SUPRA while the moto e5 Play is being released as the moto e5 CRUISE. The former you can get for a low price if you’re getting a new line or upgrade while the latter can be gotten for free with a number transfer.
The moto e5 SUPRA is a device that you can get for less than $200 and if you like devices that have batteries that will last longer than most, then this is something you might want to consider with its 5,000mAH battery. It has a 6-inch HD+ touchscreen and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core battery. It has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (that can be expanded to 128GB through a microSD card), a 12MP main camera, and an 8MP front-facing shooter. It is not water resistant but it does have a water repellant coating. As we said, this is just a rebranded moto e5 Plus so don’t be confused if they have the same specs.
Cricket is also releasing the moto e5 CRUISE which is the same as their previously released moto e5 Play which came to the market last April. This is basically an entry level device with its 5.2-inch 720p HD display and its 1.4GHz octa-core processor. It has only 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage and camera-wise, it has a basic 8MP main cam and a 5MP secondary shooter. It sports a 2800mAH battery and is simply something you might get as a secondary phone. It also runs on Android Oreo already so that’s a plus.
The moto e5 SUPRA is priced at $179.99 if you’re getting one of their new lines or you’re upgrading from a lower plan. Meanwhile, the moto e5 CRUISE is free with a number transfer and just $39.99 for a new number or an upgrade from a lower plan. You can also get it at $99.99 outright.
