A couple of days ago, the public was shown unboxing photos of what was believed to be an OPPO Realme 1 phone. We said it would be revealed the following day and true enough, OPPO launched the new smartphone. Realme is a new sub-brand but is only exclusive to India. It directly rivals the Xiaomi Redmi line in the country which we consider as a fast emerging market. Amazon is the exclusive retailer of this mid-range phone that will go on sale come May 25.
Two variants will be available: a 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. The unboxing photos are definitely legit because the phone looks exactly like it with the ‘Diamond Black’ design. As described, the back cover offers that glossy effect as the light reflects the way it does on a diamond.
The OPPO Realmi 1 features a 6.0-inch FHD+ Full Screen with very thin bezels and vivid colors, 18:9 aspect ratio, 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution, 2.0GHz Helio P60 octa-core + dual-core AI processor, triple-slot for memory expansion, 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie shooter, Bokeh effect on for portraits, facial unlock, and a 3410mAh battery. The phone runs on ColorOS 5.0 which is already based on Android 8.1.
Aside from Diamond Black, there is also the Solar Red version.
When it comes to pricing, the entry-level 32GB model costs 8990 INR which is about $132 while the 128GB variant costs 13,990 INR ($206). Pre-order isn’t open yet but feel free to sign-up HERE to be notified.
