Dolby Atmos support has been higly anticipated on mobile devices. We know only a few devices that have it including the Lenovo A7000, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, and the Galaxy S8 Oreo. We know the surround sound tech will be coming to more moble devices soon. Among the newest Samsung smartphones, we know the Galaxy S9 and S9+ already have it. They are the first premium flagship phones that are equipped with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Those special features allow the new Galaxy S9 phones to offer premium audio quality.

Most audiophiles will love the Galaxy S9 although some ordinary mobile consumers may not notice the difference. We mentioned earlier the Galaxy Tab S3 is getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update and it includes Dolby Atmos support. Not all Samsung devices have stereo speakers but even with the single loudspeakers, audio will be improved although not with the full Dolby Atmos advantage.

According to Samsung, there are now five Galaxy devices that boast the Dolby Atmos support: Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy A6, Galaxy S8 Android Oreo, and the Galaxy Tab S3 Oreo. More Samsung Galaxy models will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks or months. Feel free to check if your device is eligible to receive the Dolby Atmos support. Check Settings> Sound and vibration> Sound quality and effects.
