After the OPPO R15 and R15 Pro phones were made official with notched displays, here’s another OPPO model that will make an impression in the mobile industry: the OPPO Realme 1. It is a real Android smartphone as one consumer was able to unbox one from its packaging. There is no official announcement and perhaps it’s not meant to be unveiled yet. The post on Indian website Igyaan has since been pulled out but the cached page is still available.
Realme is actually said to be a sub-brand of OPPO. The phone is expected to be unveiled in India this coming May 15–tomorrow. The OPPO Realme 1 phone will also be released exclusively by Amazon. No word on pricing has been revealed but it could be around or below Rs 13000 ($192). We think this Realme 1 phone is for real because the live, unboxing photos look legit.
The OPPO Realme 1 could rival the Asus Zenfone Max Pro and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The unboxing photos show what’s inside: a Realme 1 unit, wall charger, documentation, SIM Ejector Tool, and USB cable. The back panel looks premium with the ‘Diamond Black’ design. Light reflects from different angles, showing different effects.
In line with this, one tech blogger (@bang_gogo on Twitter), shared the specs of the OPPO Realme 1. The phone comes equipped with a 6-inch IPS LCDscreen, 18:9 FHD+ display, 2160 x 1080 403 ppi resolution, MediaTek Helio P60 MT6771 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB onboard storage, MicroSD for memory expansion, Hybrid SIM slot, 8MP selfie camera with Portrait mode, 13MP rear cam with PDAF and depth effect, Micro USB, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, Face unlock, and a 3410 mAh battery. This one doesn’t have any fingerprint sensor.
