The BlackBerry App has recently received some important updates. This round includes new features plus bug fixes and performance enhancements. The BlackBerry team has been listening to the suggestions and feedback of consumers and tried to incorporate them on this release. The May BlackBerry App update focuses on the Hub, Calendar, BlackBerry Keyboard, Launcher, Productivity Tab, Contacts, Notes & Tasks, and Power Center. When it comes to the Hub, BlackBerry has improved message filing. The userAgent variable has been renamed to ‘Android’. The term may be used by some as a filter so to prevent users from being blocked, do update your system.
The Calendar features navigation improvements and new busy indicators. The BlackBerry Keyboard now allows flick tying for Chinese (PINYIN) and Japanese. You can also now use the Slideboard when “type by swipe” is active. The Launcher includes some modifications to inline notifications.
The Productivity Tab shows read and flagged messages while you can now display work contact name for SMS. Creating a new contact is also faster now. The Notes & Tasks section adds the quick creation of a note or task. When it comes to the Power Center, you may notice some improvements to the application memory monitoring and management.
The update should be ready over-the-air but you can always check manually.
