If you’ve been using Google Assistant for some time now, at one point or another you’ve probably thought about how good (or bad) it would be to review some of the actions and third-party apps that you’ve used with it. And while you could already rate them (if you didn’t know yet, now you do), sometimes you just need to say something about it so future users will know if it’s worth it using an action or not. Finally, Google is allowing users to post reviews for Google Assistant and its various third-party actions.
If you didn’t know it yet, you can easily access all these more than 1 million actions available on Google Assistant either through the web or by going to Explore when you call for assistance from Assistant on your mobile device. Previously, you could also rate them depending on your experience using them. And now, through the same process, you’ll also be able to leave your more detailed (or not so detailed) review of the action, especially if it’s connected to a third-party product.
Currently, the reviews seem to be listed chronologically since there’s no thumbs up and down option yet to rate the reviews. You can also edit your review if you wanted to update or change something or just delete it altogether if you change your mind. Having reviews and not just ratings are important so you can know in advance what to expect from an action or app. You can always still go ahead and try it of course, but at least you have a sort of guide.
Recent studies showed that Google Assistant is the most accurate among the current slew of voice assistants like Alexa, Siri, Cortana, etc. Letting users review the actions and apps is a good move so they can improve all the more.
