For fans of the original Pokemon game and TV series, the news that some shiny and rare colors might be making an appearance in the Pokemon GO game will probably fill them with excitement. Niantic, which develops the game for Nintendo, still have not confirmed the existence of the Shiny Pokemon, but insiders and some codes are pointing to such a thing. However the incorporation is far from complete, and so users may have to wait a little while longer and be content with the “regular” monsters they can catch anywhere.

Not all of the things that you saw on the Gameboy and Nintendo DS games have made appearances in the augmented reality game Pokemon GO. Originally, Shiny Pokemon wasn’t named that and were called “Alternate Coloration” or “Rare Coloration” but of course fans eventually renamed them and eventually, Nintendo adapted it because it matched the shiny color and fancy soundscape that came with the appearance of the shiny buggers.

In the Pokemon GO APK version 0.47.1, the words “shiny” and “rare” has actually appeared in the code, fueling speculation that it will make its way to the game soon. However, it may only be part of a test module, and as we’ve seen in the recent past, Niantic likes testing out features in live play situations before actually making an announcement, lest it still be buggy or something.

So basically, the news is that you shouldn’t hold your breath waiting for the Shiny Pokemon to make an appearance soon. It will probably come out in late summer. And also, don’t think it will be that easy to catch. Let’s just wait for the next few features to be released in the next few updates.
