Some may say that the Google+ network is a big failure when it comes to social media (well, compared to Facebook and the like) but when it comes to community building, it’s still heavily in the mix. Photographers in particular prefer uploading their stuff on Google’s network for a lot of reasons. And now Google is giving everyone the chance to have these beautiful photos grace their devices, with proper attribution of course. The Wallpapers app lets you choose and change as often as you want the gorgeous images that have been made available by the gracious artists that share them.

They have actually been available for some time now as a background for Chromecast devices and for Google Fiber users as well. Now, anyone that has an Android device and would like to see these vistas and landscapes and skylines can access them through the Wallpapers app. Yes you can always manually change your wallpapers and save them from Google+ and all, but wouldn’t it be great if it was easier and the photographers themselves are acknowledged and know that people out there are appreciative of their work.

You can use the app to display as background images on your home screen or as a lock screen image. And since the app tells you whose photo it is, then you can easily follow them on Google+ if you’re interested in their work. If you’re a photographer yourself and you want your work to be featured as well, you are encouraged to join the Google+ Create program or share your photos publicly on Google+.

You can download the Wallpapers app from the Google Play Store for free. Mac users will also be able to enjoy these photos and use them for their desktops or laptops through a desktop app, although you will only be able to use them as screen savers.
