A lot of tech experts are saying that the future of smartphones includes USB-C connectivity and also having no more headphone jack on the device. While that may indeed happen eventually, right now, the market is still not totally ready for it. That’s why products who do happen to have those features still nee adaptors and/or converters. That is what the HTC Bolt conveniently forgot, but now they are making up for it by offering one to owners for free.

There are two other phones in the market that don’t have the circular port for your headphones but both the iPhone 7 and the Moto Z do come with the adaptor in the box. The HTC Bolt on the other hand really had no adaptor hiding somewhere in its packaging and even though the device was pretty well-received, some were hesitant to buy it because of that.

HTC has relented and is now offering a free USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter through its rewards website, HTC Rewards Center. You will just have to enter your purchase date, transaction number, MEID of your device and then within a few weeks, you will receive the adapter. You can then use headphones for your HTC Bolt should you wish to do so.

This offer is only valid for US purchases only and the purchase date must be between now and January 31, 2017 to avail of the “reward”. The free adapter offer will expire by February 28, 2017, so if you’re a new HTC Bolt owner, you better get on this ASAP.
