HTC has just announced a new affordable smartphone in the form of the Desire 650. It doesn’t run Android 7.0 Nougat yet but only Marshmallow with the custom Sense skin on top. The Taiwanese tech giant is still clearly in the mobile business as this new model proves. We’ve only been waiting for another entry to the HTC Desire line as the last offering was released back in May.

Phone comes equipped with a 5-inch screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, 720p resolution, 16GB onboard storage, 2GB RAM, microSD card slot, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 13MP main camera (F2.2 aperture and HDR mode), 5MP front-facing shooter (with F2.8 aperture), and a 2200mAh battery. The back features a smooth arch in dual finish— smooth on top and some ridges at the bottom half for a more comfortable grip. Audio quality is hi-res with the BoomSound audio technology.

The HTC Desire 650 already boasts of LTE connectivity. Its battery may be small but can last up to five hours on WiFi browsing and 17.5 hours of talk time. The device is already listed on ePrice— 5,490 yuan which is around $793. That’s too pricey for an entry-level phone so we’re assuming someone made a mistake along the way.
