You can never have too many wearables in the market, can’t you? Apparently that’s what a lot of OEMs are thinking, as more competition may also mean better prices and more options for users. AmazFit is the world’s second largest wearables manufacturer apparently and they have just announced their third device within three months. PACE is a GPS-enabled running watch which caters obviously to those who love to run to stay fit, but would also like an affordable device to track their running progress.
Just like other fitness trackers, PACE can capture distance, time, pace, heart rate, calories, speed, cadence, etc. However it has built-in GPS so you don’t necessarily have to connect it to your smartphone to use it. But you can also do so if you want to receive notifications for incoming calls, messages, emails, etc. When you’re on your workout or your runs, it already has automatic heart rate monitoring and continuous tracking. And if you want music while doing your fitness routine, it has 2.45GB of storage so you can keep your music or audio files without necessarily having to bring your connected phone.
The running watch is IP67 certified so it means it’s dust, splash, and accidental submersion resistant. It also has a ceramic bezel so it is also scratch resistant and a bit more durable. When it comes to the battery, all you need is a single charge to last you for 11 days and you get 36 hours if you have continuous GPS and heart rate tracking. It also has an always on display that is still readable even when you’re under the bright sunlight.
If you get the AmazFit PACE running watch, either in black or red bands, on its pre-selling phase up to November 28, you only need to shell out $129 with its Cyber Monday deal on their website. After that day though, it will cost you around $159. By December 15, it will also be available through Amazon as well.
