Not all gorgeous-looking mobile photographs and videos were achieved using just your smartphone. Most of the time you need the help of accessories and editing tools as well. The creators of the Lume Cube, which was a popular tool for those who needed extra light for their action shots, now have a new project launched on Kickstarter. The Life Lite brings you (almost) the same lighting assist that you would need as you do your shoots, but in an even more portable package.
While the cube-shaped Lume Cube was targeted for the Go-Pro extreme sports loving market, this time around, the smaller and slightly less powerful Life Lite is mostly for mobile photographers, video bloggers, Instagrammers, Periscopers, Snapchatters, Facetimers, YouTubers, Skypers, etc. Basically, any person who uses their phone’s camera for multi-media stuff in low light, would probably need this one. You can put it in your pocket or in your bag and bring it out whenever you would need it.
The Life Lite brings you softer light without any of the harder edges. It has an output of up to 1,000 lumens and is waterproof for up to 30 feet, which means you can still use it for your extreme sports needs, especially if it involves water. It’s also half the size of the Lume Cube at just 1.5 x 1 inches and weighs just 2.5 ounces. It can last up to 30 minutes if at 100% power and 60 minutes at 50%, but can easily be charged through Micro USB. You can also control the lighting settings through a Bluetooth-powered app so this means you can also sync multiple Life Lites together.
The Kickstarter campaign has already met their target of $33,000, but you still have 31 days to go if you want to back it up. You can get the early bird rate of $39 for their signature Blue or black Life Lite. Estimated delivery is March 2017.
