Over a month ago, Nixon listed the Mission Smartwatch up for pre-order on Nixon.com. As the first action sports smartwatch in the world, we were quite intrigued by the orange Android Wear watch but it’s just one of the many color options. Today, the wearable device is also now available on Amazon at a lower price than when first announced–$400 from the $450 we previously noted.
You can say there are similar watches like those from Omate but this one from Nixon offers that luxury feel and premium design. It also boasts of a robust build quality that makes the smartwatch ready for rough use.
The Android Wear-powered watch comes with voice search, Google Fit activity tracking, and gesture and music control. Performance is fast and reliable, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor. It’s already water-resistant up to 100 meters so it’s ideal for snorkeling or swimming but not diving.
The Mission smartwatch features a capacitive touch screen with Multi-Touch and wet finger technology. It’s the perfect smartwatch for outdoors during your walk, run, or hike. You can even use it while surfing as it features Surfline so you can know the surfing conditions. It can also be useful during winter because it can show the weather and snow conditions.
The Nixon Mission 48mm is available in three colours: Black, Gray, and Orange. You can have it customized by choosing the colors of the bezel and band plus choosing the face and more personalization options.
I am in the market now that my Gear S is no longer supported. However, I would not be caught dead wearing something prominently branded with NIXON on my wrist no matter how orange it is.
