The LG G5 was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow but we know it’s eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat. Other mobile carriers have announced their update schedules already but for Optus customers in Australia, we only found out recently that the Nougat will be arriving next month. For quick software updates, you can always trust the latest LG flagship phone to get the newest Android version. For one, the LG V20 is the first Nougat device, beating the new Pixel phones.
Android 7.0 for the LG G5 is currently being tested in Australia. Avid LG phone owners will no longer have to wait for a few more months and even next year just to get a bite off the chunky Nougat. It’s only the first of the few LG smartphones that will receive the software update but no information yet which models will be next but we’re sure more will be added to the list. The Nougat LG G5 is still under testing anyway.
Optus LG G5 owners can now be rest assured that your phones are up-to-date. Wait for the official over-the-air (OTA) notification as signal that you can finally download and install the Android 7.0 Nougat software. When that time comes, it should be easy to finish the update. Just make sure you have enough storage space and a stable Internet connection. You can always check your Settings manually to see if the update is available or not.
