Sometimes it takes a few months or even a couple of years for the Android version of an app or game to arrive, especially if the developer wants to get it right on the platform. But some games take much, much longer, and in this case, six years. After the long wait, Potterheads will finally be able to play the Lego Harry Potter games, specifically Years 1-4 and then Years 5-7. Both are now available for Android smartphones and tablets.
Lego game versions of beloved pop culture phenomenon are always a joy to play and this one looks like it’s not the exception. The games’ plot lines are of course borrowed from both the books and the movies, and they are divided into two. Lego says these games have the most detailed location of all the Lego games that are currently available in the market. All the familiar locations for fans of the franchise, from Hogwarts Castle to Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, to Hogsmeade, are all painstakingly rendered in an immersive 3D environment.
Of course you have the choice as to which character you’d like to be playing in the game which includes our three main Hogwarts students Harry, Ron, and Hermione. You will get them to solve puzzles, explore the various locations and basically go on a magical adventure with Lego mini-figs. The controls are intuitive and there are also several customization options using various pieces that you’ll be able to collect all throughout the game.
Of course something this elaborate (not to mention painstakingly created) will not come cheap. Both Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 will cost you $4.99 each, but no more in-app purchases available.
