Sony is anticipated to release the new Xperia X Compact and the Xperia XZ in the United States. Earlier this week, the X Compact went up for pre-order on Amazon. Now we’ve got news that the new Xperias will be ready soon–the Xperia XZ will be ready by September 25 while the X Compact will be out on October 2 from Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers.
The Xperia XZ comes with a $699.99 price tag while the X Compact is less expensive at $499.99. The latter may still be pricey but it’s already considered a premium Sony phone despite it’s very small and compact form.
To review, the new Sony Xperia X Compact features a 4.6-inch 720p TRILUMINOS screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display, and a Snapdragon 650 processor. The phone’s imaging system is one of the best with its 23MP camera, 5-axis video stabilization, SteadyShot image stabilization tech, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, Laser Autofocus and RGBC Infrared sensors, and 4K recording.
On the other hand, the Sony Xperia XZ boasts of a 5.2-inch Gorilla Glass 4 1080p display screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 23MP rear camera, and a 13MP front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R ISO6400. Audio quality is high with the stereo dual microphone system and integrated noise cancellation.
