One of the biggest problems that travelers have when traveling, especially to a foreign country, is access to all your travel information that has been saved on your device. Not everyone can afford (or would want to spend on) roaming and so you search for WiFi hotspots just to be able to look for places you should visit nearby. Of course planning beforehand is important, but also having access to those plans is crucial. Google Trips wants to help you with all of those things, and you can use it even when offline.
Google calls their latest app a “personalized tour guide in your pocket” and contains various categories of information that you would need for your trip. From the planning stage to the actual trip, you will be able to save all the information that you would need when you finally go to your destination, even if you won’t have Internet connection. All you have to do is press the Download button when you still have WiFi or mobile data to ensure you won’t get lost in Barcelona, Tokyo, Sydney, or wherever you’re going.
Google Trips includes suggested itineraries for more than 200 top cities in the world. This includes popular sights, attractions, local hidden gems, and everything else you might need to have the best daily itinerary for your trip, based on historic visits by other travelers. But you can also customize it according to your preferred places, and then the nearest attractions around it so you can maximize your time in that area. You can pin specific places on the map and then bring them up even when you’re offline. You can also add places suggested by friends that you may later on want to visit, even if it’s not originally included in your itinerary.
It’s already a given that your flight information, hotel, car, and dinner reservations will already be included in the app, as they will be gathered from your Gmail account. You can download Google Trips from the Google Play Store for free.
