Rumors were going around that Internet radio service Pandora was going to launch a new subscription product and true enough, they have now announced the all new Pandora Plus. It is a $5 per month service that will be replacing the current Pandora One and offers some improvements which users will hopefully appreciate. Plus, they also confirmed that they are looking to launch a new on-demand tier soon, to compete with giants like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and the like.

The main difference between Pandora Plus and its predecessor, Pandora One, is that the new service offers you more skips, more replays, and will even let you listen to your radio offline. It will automatically detect if you’ve lost internet connection and then it will switch to a station that “Pandora knows you love”. If you’ve already previously subscribed to Pandora One, then you will automatically be switched to this new plan and you don’t need to exert much effort to do so.

Those who are using Pandora for free will also get to experience something new. You will now have the option to view video ads instead of the usual ones that you see while listening in between songs. In return, you will be able to earn more skips and replays the more videos you watch. That’s probably a small price to pay to be able to listen more to the songs you want to listen to in your radio station.

And speaking of actual songs you want to listen to, Pandora CEO Tim Westergren confirmed that they will indeed be launching an on demand listening service before the year ends. While the radio stations they offer are customized in a way to your listening taste, it still is a different thing for you to be able to choose the actual sings that you want to listen to.
