Last year’s Galaxy A8 finally received some Marshmallow goodness a few months ago. And now, Samsung is believed to be rolling out the 2016 version based on a Geekbench listing and a similar document on GFXBench. It seems Samsung is more than ready to unveil the new smartphone especially since our reliable source, OnLeaks, has recently shared some photos and details.
Knowing OnLeaks, there is a high probability that these rendered images are for real. We’re not expecting much but almost, always, Steve Hemmerstoffer is right. In case you didn’t know, Mr. Hemmerstoffer is @OnLeaks. About the Galaxy A8, he said that it looks a lot like a Galaxy S7 but only bigger. Measuring 156.5×77.5×7.3mm in dimensions, the Galaxy A8 features a relocated speaker, metal body, and glass front.
The phone looks definitely slimmer but with a huge 5.7-inch screen and 1080p pixel display. There’s also 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, 16MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facing cam. Powering the smartphone are Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor as per the Geekbench document.
The Galaxy A8 may look premium but it’s only mid-range. Specs are good enough if you’re looking for a budget-friendly phone or are still waiting for your Note 7 replacement.
