If you’re a serious pet owner, you might find yourself missing your dog or cat like crazy whenever you’re away the whole day and especially a few days. You could video call whoever’s pet-sitting them so you can see them and they can see/hear you, but you’ve probably thought about a better way than that. Well, one subsidiary of Acer called Pawbo has actually thought of something and today unveiled their product called Pawbo+, which lets you see, talk to, play with, and even feed your pets remotely.
Basically, Pawbo+ is a smart home device that will let you keep an eye on your pets, even if you’re currently away from them. Connect it to your smartphone and you’ll be able to conduct video calls with your pet or pets through the device’s wide-angle 130-degree camera and chat with them through the microphone and speakers. Of course you’ll also be able to hear their mewls and barks and meows, which may probably make you miss them more. You can integrate your Dropbox and Google Drive so you can save the videos and you can also have seamless photo sharing on your favorite social networks.
You can also play with them using the integrated laser pointer so you can make them chase the light if that’s your thing. And what’s amazing is that the Pawbo+ actually has a built-in storage tray and you can activate it to give your pets some treats as reward for good behavior or just because you miss them so. Up to 8 concurrent users can actually log in to view the live streams, in case you want or need other friends and family members to see your pet as well.
Pawbo+ will be available for pre-order starting September 1 in the US, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan. But the date when shipping starts was not mentioned. Having this will cost you $169 but it already comes with free shipping.
