Ever since Google introduced the Chromecast dongle and also later on, Google Cast, people have been enjoying casting the content from their mobile devices or laptops onto a bigger screen, specifically, your TV. Over the past few months, they have been creating more ways to make casting easier, including the Google Cast extension for the Chrome browser. But now, you don’t even need to install that as it has already been fully integrated into Chrome. You can also now cast your browser into a Hangouts conversation as well.

Google says that there have been more than 38 million casts from Chrome and that more than 50 million hours of content, including video streams and photo slideshows have been casted onto TV screens. That number will probably go up now that you don’t need to install anything to be able to cast. Websites that have been integrated with Google Cast will show the Cast icon when you visit them. But even if they’re not yet integrated, you can go to the Chrome menu and choose the Cast item.

If you’re on a Hangouts video call and you need to show them something from your browser or your entire desktop, you can also choose to cast it to your conversation window. Of course to be able to do this, you still need the Chromecast or Chromecast Audio dongle to serve as your receiver.

You can update your Chrome browser to the latest version and you’ll see the Cast option in the menu automatically. So go ahead and enjoy video or music streaming or looking at your last vacation slideshow on a much bigger screen or sharing it with your contacts on your Hangout.
