Fitbit recently introduced two new wearables perfect for the health and fitness enthusiasts as a follow-up to the Charge 2 and Flex 2 released last year. Making the pair more efficient is the fact that both devices can now recognize different types of exercises. Aside from auto-recognition, the wearables offer guided breathing plus reminders ala Apple Watch. The latter will really make you get up and move.
To complement the new styles and features, there’s also a new app developed with Fitbit adventures. Since Fitbit is also known for being stylish, the brand also teamed up with some esteemed designers to make them more look trendy yet high-couture.
The new Fitbit Charge 2 is an obvious follow-up to the Charge HR. The new model comes with a display that’s larger by four times, seven built-in clock faces, and interchangeable bands. The idea is a wearable that can be more customized or something the wearer can personalize depending on style and mood. Choose the material or color of strap that you want to use every time you use the new Fitbit Charge 2.
If you’re a very active person that does many kinds of exercise, the Charge 2 can easily switch and change the exercise mode. This way, the device can correctly track data whether you are running, lifting weights, or spending time on the elliptical or treadmill. The new Fitbit Charge also features an interval workout mode that lets the wearer know the intervals to switch moves and when it’s time to rest. As with the older Charge, you can also connect this one to a smartphone’s GPS so you can track your distance, pacing, and view a summary map
The Fitbit Flex 2 still remains as a simple yet powerful health tracker. It actually looks more stylish because it’s sleek, slimmer, and has many looks. It’s not totally a smartwatch but it can give text and call notifications via Bluetooth connectivity. You will see a small color LED for reminders. The small device is water-proof so you can still use it while in the pool. With the Fitbit Flex 2, feel free to track your distance, pace, calories burned, and pool laps.
Fitbit is expected to release special accessories plus new colors. You can choose from any of the following: black, grey, lavender, pink, yellow, magenta, and navy. A Luxe Series will also be released as a special enclosure that can function as a necklace or bangle. Designs from brands like Tory Burch, Simply Vera by Vera Wang, and Public School will soon be available.
The Fitbit Charge 2 will be available in September for $149.95 while extra bands will range from $29.95 for regular bands to $69.95 for the leather band and as much as $179.95 for the special edition bands. Color options include blue, black, teal, or plum.
