The Samsung Good Lock app has been a pretty great addition for Galaxy devices, especially when they made it available not just for the newest flagships, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, but also for older ones like the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5. The latest update to the app now adds support to the newest kid in the block, the Galaxy Note 7 and that includes supporting the iris scanner, which is a huge part of what makes the newest phablet so special.
In case you’re not familiar with the app, Samsung Good Lock app turns your locked screen into a productivity hub, even without having to unlock your screen, as you’ve probably figured out. You can access frequently used apps, widgets, and customize what you’ll be able to see and do on your locked home screen. The update is useful for new owners of the Galaxy Note 7 as it will still let you use your iris scanner the same way that you can use it if you’re not using the Good Lock app.
There are also new added minor features from the update, like including or excluding Keep Notifications from the locked screen, displaying the status bar icons of categorized notifications into one category icon, and adding unlock animation of the Lockscreen. There are also enhancements to the swipe up interaction, getting the option to remove apps or not on list type of recent apps, plus support for routine location radius setting and center aligned Clock Widget on Lockscreen.
There are of course the usual bug fixes and improvements, like the SystemUI restart issues from the previous update. You can check your Good Lock to see if the update is now available.
