The upcoming LG V20 isn’t really the first smartphone that has the latest major update, the Android 7.0 Nougat because that distinction belongs to the Nexus 6P and other Nexus devices that are already receiving the update. But it is the first new Android device that will have the Nougat out of the box, as it will be launched early next week. That hasn’t stopped them from highlighting the new features that will come with the update in a 47 second teaser video that they released on Twitter.
LG could have chosen to highlight the various features of the upcoming smartphone, like its 5.7-inch screen or its Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection or its 4GB or 6GB RAM or its 32GB or 64GB internal memory. But for this teaser video, they instead focused on the various Nougat features that you’ll be able to experience ahead of everyone else (well, except Nexus owners) if you get the V20. This mostly concerns the multi-tasking features that the latest Android update will bring. Oh, and the whole 47 second video was supposedly shot on the phone itself, although of course probably not edited and rendered there.
Some of the features highlighted include the ability to reply to notifications without having to open the app itself, to watch a video while still doing other more productive things, and double tapping to switch between recently used apps. You will also now be able to run two apps side by side, drop text to copy between apps ,and organize most used settings more easily.
Of course these features won’t be exclusive to the LG V20, but if you want to experience these things and you can’t wait for your device and carrier to roll out the update to your device, then you may want to get this smartphone if you have the extra budget. It will be simultaneously unveiled on September 6 in San Francisco and September 7 in South Korea.
September 6 is looking pretty sweet. See what the #LGV20 with @Android Nougat can do out of the box.https://t.co/0P9fMtH1W1
