Other search engines have their work cut out for them because their competitor is already being used as a verb. But hey, it doesn’t hurt to try and make a dent in Google’s market share. Or you can convince mobile users to have both a Google search app and your own app as well. That’s what Microsoft’s Bing Search is hoping for, and the latest update to the app brings some new features that may entice you to do just that, especially if you love to listen to music and watch videos.
Music search is a major component in this new update, and in case you’re looking for a specific song, you can use the Bing Search app by typing the name of the song or if something is playing, it will tell you what it is. You can play the video of the song you were searching for and follow along with the lyrics. Another new feature, which is one of the more popular ones in the desktop version of Bing, is video preview. The video will start playing in your search results, but without the sound of course, because otherwise you might go crazy.
And while we’re on video search already, the update will also give you recommended videos that may be related to the one you’re searching for, just in case you need to fall into a video blackhole while searching for just one cat video. Camera search will also now support flash, zoom, and even front-facing camera so you’ll get a wider range of image results.
You can update the Bing Search app from the Google Play page. And in case you don’t have it yet, why not give it a whirl, if these new features sound appealing to you.
