We don’t know much about Cuba but we’re familiar of the rift between the country and the United States. Things are getting better now and the issue has started to warm. This is good news for American companies who want to enter Cuba. This means they can now offer more products and services. The likes of AT&T want to join the trend and so it will soon be offering roaming services in Cuba. You see, other carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile have already partnered with a telecom.
The service is for subscribers who will be traveling to Cuba. It’s one great offer that will encourage more people to visit the country and hopefully do business. American carriers usually offer roaming service in Canada and Mexico but now AT&T is adding Cuba. It’s not yet available but the carrier is already in talks with a telecom’s provider in Cuba.
If you may remember, Verizon was the first American mobile carrier to offer roaming in Cuba. That happened last year and a few months ago, T-Mobile and the Cuban carrier signed a similar deal for roaming customers.
No official announcement has been made but AT&T confirmed with Reuters that it has finalized a deal with Etecsa (Empresa De Telecomunicaciones De Cuba). Let’s wait for further announcements about this very important partnership and see how soon the mobile carrier will launch its services.
