Samsung’s newest flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 7, is now officially in the market. And so it’s time for them to make a big splash about it. Their first TV ad has been released, and along with that comes their official ad slogan for the new device: “The smartphone that thinks big”. Of course you cannot put much details about the smartphone in just 30 seconds, but the TV ad quickly highlights what are the best things about the latest addition to their Note line.
The TV commercial is set in what may be a coffee bar or office lounge or some co-working space filled with preppie and artsy looking people doing things you expect from yuppies and hipsters. But of course the highlight of the video is how awesome the Galaxy Note 7 is. Four things were highlighted in just a few seconds. First is that you can actually accidentally drop your phablet into a fishbowl and it will still function pretty well because it is water resistant. Secondly, you can take silly pictures of your friends monkeying around and then make a GIF out of it because the Note’s S Pen has been much improved.
The third highlight is what makes the Note 7 stand out from other smartphones in the market now as the iris scanner adds an extra level of security, especially if you’re working on a top secret patent as the guy in the video is. Lastly, it says that the phablet’s 5.7-inch screen will give you a “cinema experience” when you watch videos on it, even when you’re not supposed to.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now available in ten countries initially: the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE and South Korea. The price is around $834-$880, depending on which carrier you’re getting it from.
