The newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has already started making waves even since the official unveiling and it hasn’t yet officially come out in the market. And now the OEM has released a hands-on video showing off their “most intelligent, best-looking, and most powerful Note ever”. Of course since this is a company-released hands-on, you can expect nothing but praises for their latest phablet flagship, harping on the design and unique features of the device.

When it comes to the design, the Galaxy Note 7 is a combination of the Note design we’re used to and the dual curved edge of the Galaxy edge devices. The video shows off the curved sides which are also curving front and back, and the thinner front bezel makes it seem like it is bezel-less so that when you’re watching a video or playing a game, you have an almost fully immersive experience. The Gorilla Glass also gives protection to your screen from the knocks that will eventually find their way to your device.

Of course this device’s crowning glory is that is its IR LED and Iris Camera which gives you the iris scanner as added security for your device. It is Samsung’s first device with the iris detection tech so obviously, they will be harping on this for a while. It also shows off the phablet’s 3500 mAh battery which will supposedly give your device more juice and with fast wireless charging you shouldn’t run out of power for a while. The return of the microSD card also gets a mention and so does the USB type-C connector (with an adaptor since not a lot are compatible with it for now).

The much improved S-Pen is also demonstrated and the waterproof aspect of the device highlighted. The Galaxy Note 7 will be available by August 19 and you can choose from four colors: Blue Coral, Silver Titanium, and Black Onyx. Most of the carriers are already accepting pre-orders and T-Mobile has priced it at $849.99, while Verizon will be selling it at $864, and AT&T is at $879. We’ll find out more in the next few days with regards to pricing.
