If you’re planning to buy a new car, and a new model to boot, you might want to check out the Ford 2017 models if that is in your price range. It is especially important if you prefer to have your vehicles connected to your gadgets and to the Internet, as the automobile company announced that all their 2017 models will be loaded with their Sync 3 entertainment system and this is compatible with the Android Auto platform.
Ford says they’re going by a platform-centric approach and so this means they have created a technology for its entire lineup instead of making something for each of the models. So all cars, SUVs, light trucks, and electrified vehicles that will be released as a 2017 model will have the connectivity that users are slowly demanding from their carmakers. You can connect your Android devices, at least those that are running on Lollipop and above, and be able to access maps, music, messages, some 3rd party apps (Spotify, Accu Weather, AAA member services, etc) on your vehicle’s screen.
You will also be able to use voice commands on the Sync 3 platform, especially when you’re using Android Auto, because we wouldn’t want you to keep on looking or touching your screen, for safety purposes. Sync 3 also has new hardware and software, including more conversational voice recognition so you can access more features safely like hands-free phone calls and voice commands for navigation.
Ford has already released 2017 editions of their Escape, Fusion, Mustang and Explorer, and of course all of them come with the Sync 3 platform. Later this year, all new F-150, Focus, Edge, and Super Duty models will be arriving in the market as well.
