If you can’t wait for the official announcement supposedly happening on August 2, there are plenty of leaks and rumors around regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Yes, that is not a typo, as sources are saying that indeed, the Korean OEM will skip a generation in their phablet line in order to keep up with the flagship devices, which are currently the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Just a few weeks away from the launch and we now have unverified specs and even a pic of “the next big thing”.
There were already some leaked pictures of the Galaxy Note 7 floating around, but they weren’t at all that clear. This new one is supposedly the clearest glimpse that we’ll have before August 2, although we really can’t glean much from the photo except that it looks like a cross between the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 5. Of course we’ll eventually find out if the picture is the real deal, but for now, let’s imagine that this is it. Is the design something that will entice you.
Or maybe the supposed specs will do the trick for you. It will have a 5.7-inch dual-curved QHD display and based on that picture, the bezels are pretty thin. It will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and will have a 4GB RAM, but no word yet on internal storage. It will have a Grace UI which is based on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It will reportedly have a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter.
Another rumor that has been constant with the Galaxy Note 7 is that there will be no more Galaxy S7 edge+ since the phablet is already dual-curved so there’s no need for another edge device. We’ll keep you updated on any other leaks and rumors that will come our way before August 2.
