Just a few days ago, Android Pay officially added a fourth country to the list where you will be able to use Google’s mobile payment gateway. As of today, you can use your compatible smartphone to pay for purchases in Australia (the latest addition), Singapore, the US, and the UK. But on a more domestic front, they are adding 19 more banks and credit unions in the US so that more people will actually be able to use the service.
This is pretty important news (more so if you’re a user of any of those financial institutions) because even if your device can have Android Pay, if the bank you’re using is not connected to it, then it is practically useless for you. So while the big banks did throw in their support for the service, not everyone uses them of course, and so adding more of the smaller ones will be good in the long run.
The 19 that are new additions to the Android Pay family are:
– 1st Advantage FCU
– ACU of Texas
– Alpine Credit Union
– Alternatives federal credit union
– Bank of the Ozarks
– Cambridge Savings Bank
– Crane CU
– Fairfax County FCU
– First Community Bank
– First Sentry Bank
– First Tech Federal Credit Union
– Heritage Federal Credit Union
– IH Mississippi
– Mercantile Bank of Michigan
– Mill City Credit Union
– ORNL
– Railroad & Industrial FCU
– Union State Bank of Fargo
– Valley Federal Credit Union
It will still take some time before Android Pay will be able to fully and widely get the support they would need in order to become the mobile payment, or even just payment, of choice. And with both Apple Pay and Samsung Pay also becoming more aggressive in their expansion, then Google would have to work double time to widen their horizons.

Unfortunately, you still can’t use it in many places.
