While Microsoft’s main business remains to be software, there has been a deliberate shift of their focus onto mobile devices rather than just for desktop use. They have created mobile versions of their traditional apps like Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneNote, Skype, etc and have continually added functions and features that would rival that of their desktop versions. They have also been creating pretty cool mobile apps, and two of those, Microsoft Sprightly and Next Lock Screen, have received pretty significant updates.

Microsoft Sprightly is an app that lets you create catalogs, flyers, price lists, e-cards, etc, even if you don’t have any design background or desktop software. It uses pre-designed templates and a very user-friendly interface so that you will be able to create your business’ collaterals on your own. In the latest update, you now have “generous text limits” when it comes to your business name, as this is one of the most consistent feedback. When it comes to the other text fields, there are suggested number of characters but still no hard stops.

As for Next Lock Screen, version 3.6.0 adds support for French and Italian languages, an improvement in the app’s memory usage, and improvement on the lock screen performance when you lock and unlock your device. They were also able to fix some issues, like the slow appearance of the launchpad after unlocking and the occasional mismatch of the title and content.

The update for both apps have started rolling out so make sure that you check their respective Google Play pages to see if it has arrived for you already.
