As promised, China-based manufacturer Xiaomi released the MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM yesterday. This beta ROM is now available for users to download as an over-the-air (OTA) update for eligible Xiaomi devices. And if you were curious, the supported devices for MIUI 8 just gained a few more names, so you better check if your Xiaomi device is now supported.
MIUI 8 was recently launched together with the Mi Max for the Indian market, and it brings along some new features like a fairly new look, dual instance app support, Quick ball (which is a hovering button that stays on screen at all times and can contain shortcuts), and a redesigned Gallery app among others.
Supported devices for the MIUI 8 Global beta ROM include the Redmi Note 3G, the Redmi Note 4G, the Redmi Note Prime, the Redmi 2, and the Mi Max 32GB. New additions to this list are the Mi 4i and the Redmi Note 2. Xiaomi says that the list of supported devices will increase progressively soon.
