Samsung recently introduced two new pairs of Android handsets. Both are under the J series with the one being leaked the past few weeks and the other one surprising us with its large screen. The Galaxy J2 (2016) and Galaxy J Max were just launched by the South Korean giant complete with the new Smart Glow feature that we’ve also been discussing.
Samsung Galaxy J2
The Galaxy J2 with Smart Glow follows the Galaxy J3 and J5. Making it a possible winner is the new Smart Glow function even with the not so impressive specs. This Smart Glow is a new light notification in the form of an LED ring around the main camera. What it does is light up in different colors and patterns to tell the mobile user what notification is available.
Specs of the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) include a 5.0-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 1.5GB RAM, 1.5 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor, 8MP rear camera, 5MP selfie cam, and 2600 mAh battery. These are low specs but the Smart Glow, Turbo Speed Technology, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow make it a worthy successor. You can also expect other special features like the S Bike mode, and Ultra Data Saving Mode.
Samsung Galaxy J MAX
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy J Max boasts of a huge 7-inch screen. It’s a bit small for a tablet and too big for a smartphone but the company is introducing this J Max handset in India. Features are not impressive though for a mobile device that size. There’s only 1080p resolution, 1.5GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, OIS, 2MP front-facing camera, 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU, and a 4000mAh battery. Well, the battery there is good enough for a phablet that size.
These two phones will BE released in India later this month with super affordable prices: 13,400 Rs ($200) for the Galaxy J Max and 9,750 Rs ($145) for the Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 Edition. You can get the phones in Black or Gold but there’s the addition of silver for the Galaxy J2.
