The rollout of the OxygenOS 3.2.1 was pulled out quickly after release and now it’s a ‘go’ again. The OxygenOS update has been controversial because someone discovered that IMEI was being sent over on HTTP. OnePlus didn’t say anything about it but has started the update rollout once more. It’s already 3.2.1 as some changes have been made including fixes on issues on notification, SIM recognition, Gallery, and Clock/Music apps.
All 3.2.0 enhancements we mentioned are also part of 3.2.1 so expect the sRGB mode in developer options enabled, as well as, improvements on RAM management, GPS performance, audio playback quality, and camera quality and functionality. This one also adds the latest Google security patches and custom icon packs. According to OnePlus, rollout will be incremental so don’t worry if you don’t see the update on your phone yet.
On the OnePlus forum, some OnePlus 3 user from Germany noted that his OxygenOS 3.2.0 brought some issues. A certain ‘thomasstolz’ said that after the update, his two SIM cards were not recognized by the system. It was an old issue that has been resolved but it’s back. After rebooting the phone, a “SIM ist nicht erkannt oder fehlerhaft” (SIM is not recognized or incorrect) message was shown. There was no change even after rebooting and reactivating. He even tried to use just one card but to no avail.
The discussion was started on Monday, July 4. OnePlus pulled out the 3.2.0 rollout on July 6. We’re guessing this is THE problem that made OnePlus pull out the software update. Apparently, many users have experienced the same thing although some were lucky to not have any issues. We’re hoping Oneplus finally got it right with 3.2.1.
Still no update on my op3.
Just put my VPN in Germany on my op3 and the update came through
