As the supposed launch of the Samsung Galaxy J2 is just a few days away, curiosity over the device is still growing, particularly as it is the first Samsung device that will have the Smart Glow notification ring. Some new images of the smartphone have been leaked and although we don’t see yet the ring “in action”, we get a glimpse at how it actually looks like on the device. The ring will be around the main camera lens and will supposedly light up in different colors.
If you haven’t been paying attention to Samsung related news, the Smart Glow notification ring is the latest in the OEMs attempts to bring better notification features to its Galaxy devices. So instead of just having notifications on your screen, you don’t even have to look at it to be notified that you’ve received messages, you’re getting an incoming call, and other priority alerts. It can also assist you in taking selfies and tell you when your device is running out of juice.
The notifications will also be color coded but for now, we don’t know yet how that will work. As it is just the first time that Samsung will use such a tech, we can expect that there will be more features, especially for higher Galaxy devices. Eventually, Smart Glow will reportedly bring weather information and even measure the heart rate of the user.
But for now, the Samsung Galaxy J2 will be the only device sporting the Smart Glow ring notification. And unfortunately, this device will be launching in India only within this week and it will be available in either black or gold. Hopefully, it will expand to other markets quickly, or Samsung adds the feature to their upcoming devices as well.
